When you use Signtone, we collect the following information:

• Account information (name, email) when you sign in via Google OAuth or magic link
• Audio signal data processed on-device to detect Signtone (raw audio is never uploaded)
• Event registration data (which events you register for, timestamps)
• Device information (device type, OS version) for compatibility purposes

2. How we use your information

We use collected information to:

• Register you for events when a Signtone Signtone is detected
• Provide event organizers with attendee lists they have permission to access
• Improve our audio detection technology and app performance
• Send you event-related notifications you've opted into

3. Audio and microphone access

Signtone uses your device microphone solely to detect encoded audio Signtone(s). Audio processing happens entirely on your device. We do not record, store, or transmit raw audio to our servers. Only the decoded event identifier (a short alphanumeric string) is sent to our backend for event matching.

4. Data sharing

We share your registration information (name, email) with event organizers for events you register for. We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We may share anonymized, aggregated usage statistics to improve our service.

5. Data retention

Account data is retained as long as your account is active. Event registration data is retained for 12 months after the event date. You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

6. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You can revoke microphone permissions at any time through your device settings. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@signtone.app.

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using Signtone ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of service

Signtone provides audio-based event registration technology. The Service includes a mobile application for attendees and a web dashboard for event organizers. Signtone encodes event data into audio signals ("Signtones") that are detected by the mobile app for one-tap event registration.

3. User accounts

You may sign in using Google OAuth or a magic link sent to your email. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You must provide accurate information when creating an account.

4. Organizer responsibilities

Event organizers who use Signtone agree to:

• Use Signtone(s) only for legitimate event registration purposes
• Comply with applicable privacy laws when collecting attendee data
• Not use the Service for deceptive, fraudulent, or harmful purposes
• Inform attendees that audio-based registration technology is in use at their venue

5. Attendee consent

By using the Signtone app with microphone access enabled, you consent to on-device audio processing for the purpose of detecting Signtone(s). You may revoke this at any time by disabling microphone access in your device settings.

6. Intellectual property

The Signtone audio encoding technology, app, and associated materials are the property of Signtone. You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the audio encoding algorithms.

7. Limitation of liability

Signtone is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for missed registrations due to environmental audio interference, device compatibility, or network issues. Our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Service.

8. Modifications

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We will notify users of material changes via email or in-app notification.
